Most of the time when you hear the term demolition contractor you think of the exciting explosive demolitions of big buildings. While they certainly do take care of those larger buildings, most of the time demolition contractors work on much smaller scales than that. While you might be tempted to try and remove that old shed or detached garage on your own so that you can build a new one in its place, you should always use a demolition contractor. There is no job too small for them. Here are three important reasons why they will prove invaluable to you.
Tools
You might not think that it takes a lot of equipment to tear down a smaller building, but that is where you are wrong. These jobs might not warrant the use of an excavator to help pull it down, but most of the work will be done with sledgehammers, crowbars, and a variety of other, hand-held tools used for separating smaller construction parts from each other. Demolition contractors also know how to do this safely without the risk of the building collapsing on them, even if it is quite small. Trying to do it on your own with the hammer you have in your toolbox just won't cut it, even for these smaller jobs.
Removal
One great feature that not many people realize they need during demolition is the removal of the debris after work is finished. After all, even if you managed to destroy the shed or detached garage by yourself, what do you do with the heap of bricks, timber frames, and assorted glass and rubble now? You can't put it in the trash, and you likely do not have a truck or van big enough to take it to landfill if they would even accept it.
Quick
You can spend a long time mulling over how you are going to pull down your smaller building. It might seem like an easy job at first, but on your own with minimal tools, it becomes a challenge. Demolition contractors can come in and have the building torn down in a matter of hours, and be out of your hair on the same day (depending on the size and number of structures you need to be removed). Don't let this consume your time for the next few months, get it done quickly and professionally by a proper demolition contractor.
